Product Overview

Product overview

The 3TPD portable seawater desalination is a seawater desalination system rated for 3 tons per hour. High-pressure membranes and a corrosion-resistant train convert seawater or brackish water into potable or process water from a single containerised or skid-mounted unit. Energy recovery and frequency control keep specific power consumption low, and the fresh-water conductivity is monitored continuously so the crew can see quality at a glance. The system is suited to islands, ships, coastal plants and emergency water supply.

How it works

From raw water to finished water

Seawater intake

A sea water intake and screening system supplies the plant, with a beach well option where the coastline allows it.

Pre-treatment

Multimedia filtration and a precision guard remove particulates; dosing controls scaling and biofouling.

High-pressure pumping

A corrosion-resistant high-pressure pump raises seawater to 3.5-5.5 MPa before the membrane array.

Membrane array

Seawater-grade RO elements produce permeate at 99.2 percent salt rejection, with an energy-recovery device on larger units.

Post-treatment

Remineralisation, pH correction and disinfection make the product water fit for drinking or irrigation.

Brine discharge

Concentrate is returned through a diffuser or outfall in line with local environmental permits.

Applications

Where this system is used

Selected for desalination equipment duty across these sectors.

FAQ

Questions buyers ask before ordering

Roughly 3-4 kWh per cubic metre for a well-designed seawater RO plant with energy recovery, and more for small units without a recovery device.

The portable unit is a compact skid for a few cubic metres a day, ideal for islands, boats and relief work. Containerised plants scale to hundreds of cubic metres a day.

Concentrate is discharged through a diffuser or a permitted outfall. Where regulations require it, we design zero-liquid-discharge or evaporation systems.

Seawater permeate is close to distilled water, so we add remineralisation and pH correction to make it palatable and non-corrosive.

Three to five years with proper pre-treatment. Spiral-wound seawater elements are individually replaceable in the pressure vessels.
