Product Overview

Product overview

The Automatic water softening device is a softening system rated for the capacity stated on the datasheet. Ion-exchange resin exchanges calcium and magnesium for sodium, protecting downstream RO membranes, boilers and process equipment from scale build-up. Regeneration is controlled automatically from the multi-port valve according to your hardness profile and usage pattern, and brine is drawn only when needed to keep salt consumption down. Resin vessels are available in FRP or stainless steel to suit the installation.

How it works

From raw water to finished water

Raw water supply

A booster pump feeds the pressure vessel at a steady flow so the resin bed is loaded evenly.

Resin bed

Strong-acid cation resin exchanges calcium and magnesium for sodium, removing hardness down to 0.03 mmol/L.

Service run

Treated water flows to the boiler, laundry or process line while the controller counts the treated volume.

Brine draw

At the set point the controller draws saturated brine from the salt box and regenerates the resin.

Slow rinse and fast rinse

Brine is displaced and the bed is rinsed to specification before the unit returns to service.

Multi-tank duty

Duty and standby vessels alternate automatically, so softened water is available without interruption.

FAQ

Questions buyers ask before ordering

From peak flow in m3/h and total hardness in mmol/L. That gives the resin volume and the interval between regenerations, which is what actually decides the tank size.

Roughly 3-5 kg of salt per cubic metre of resin per regeneration, depending on the hardness and the efficiency setting you choose.

Yes. Softening exchanges calcium and magnesium for a small amount of sodium. Where sodium intake is a concern, use a separate unsoftened drinking water tap.

Duty and standby tanks alternate automatically, so softened water is available during regeneration. Single-tank units pause for 60-90 minutes per cycle.

Topping up the salt, checking the injector and brine line, and an annual resin inspection. The controller logs regeneration cycles for you.
