Why do reverse osmosis systems need pretreatment?
Reverse osmosis system is widely used in the water treatment industry, reverse osmosis system is often pre-treated, because the impurities contained in the raw water will pollute the membrane element, affecting the stable operation of the system and the service life of the membrane element.
Reverse osmosis systems are pretreated for the following reasons:
1. to prevent pollution on the surface of the film, that is, to prevent suspended impurities, microorganisms, colloidal substances, etc. from adhering to the surface of the film or fouling the water channel of the film element.
2. Prevent scaling on the surface of the film. During the operation of the reverse osmosis device, due to the concentration of water, some insoluble salts such as CaCO3, CaSO4, BaSO4, SrSO4 and CaF2 are deposited on the surface of the membrane, so the formation of these insoluble salts should be prevented.
3. to ensure that the film is free from mechanical and chemical damage, so that the film has good performance and long enough service life.
